Nairn Beach Color Palette - Unique Beach Art Decor

Using the Nairn Beach Color Palette to Create a Stunning Space

The Nairn Beach fine art piece captures the tranquil beauty of one of Scotland’s beautiful coastlines. Known for its golden sands, colorful pebbles, and serene waters, Nairn Beach offers a captivating array of colors that can transform any space into a serene retreat. This large wall art piece showcases a soothing palette of blues, greens, sandy neutrals, and hints of sunset hues, each carrying its own symbolic meaning and potential for your home decor.

What is a Color Palette

First things first …. What exactly is a color palette?

A color palette is a curated collection of colors that work together harmoniously, often used to create a specific mood, style, or visual effect in design and decor. In the context of art and home decor, color palettes are essential for establishing a cohesive look that enhances the overall ambiance of a space. They help guide design choices, ensuring that every element—from wall art to furnishings—works seamlessly together.

One of the main purposes of a color palette is to create unity and balance in a room, making the space feel well-thought-out and inviting. Color palettes also evoke emotions; for instance, cool blues and greens can create a calming atmosphere, while warm oranges and reds evoke energy and warmth. Additionally, using a color palette helps streamline the decorating process by serving as a visual guide, making it easier to select complementary pieces, like art and accessories, that match and enhance the chosen theme. My mood boards, for example, are centered around art pieces, showcasing how colors from the art can be reflected throughout a space to create a unified and stylish look.

So simply put …. It helps you keep everything kinda matchy-matchy, blending and pleasing to the eye.

Now … onto the FUN STUFF!

Color Palette for Nairn Beach

1. Blues: Serenity, Stability, and Calm

The various shades of blue found in the Nairn Beach art piece represent serenity and calm. Blue is a color often associated with tranquility, peace, and relaxation, making it a perfect choice for spaces where you want to unwind, such as bedrooms or living areas. The soft blues of the sky and the deeper blues of the sea create a sense of depth and openness, evoking the feeling of a gentle sea breeze and the sound of lapping waves.

2. Greens: Renewal, Balance, and Harmony

Greens, particularly those that mimic the tones of seaweed or the distant Scottish highlands, symbolize renewal, balance, and growth. Green is a refreshing color that connects us with nature, providing a restorative feeling that is perfect for spaces where you want to feel rejuvenated. This color works beautifully in home offices, bathrooms, or any room where a touch of nature can enhance the ambiance.

3. Sandy Neutrals: Warmth, Simplicity, and Comfort

The sandy neutrals in the artwork, representing the golden sands of Nairn Beach, bring warmth and simplicity to the color palette. These tones are often associated with comfort, relaxation, and grounding, making them ideal for creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Sandy neutrals are incredibly versatile and can serve as a soft backdrop that balances bolder colors or as a primary tone in minimalist decor.

4. Sunset Hues: Optimism, Energy, and Inspiration

Hints of soft pinks, oranges, and yellows that might be seen during a sunset at Nairn Beach add an element of warmth and optimism. These colors are associated with joy, energy, and creativity, bringing a subtle yet uplifting vibe to any room. Sunset hues work well as accent colors that draw the eye and create focal points, making them perfect for highlighting specific areas of your decor.

How to Complement the Nairn Beach Color Palette

To maximize the impact of the Nairn Beach art piece in your space, it’s important to complement the existing colors in the artwork with other elements in your decor.

1. Use Soft Blues and Greens in Your Textiles

To echo the calming blues and greens of Nairn Beach, consider incorporating these colors into your textiles, such as cushions, throws, curtains, or rugs. A soft blue throw draped over a neutral-colored sofa or green pillows on a bed can bring subtle touches of these colors into your room without overwhelming the space.

2. Bring in Natural Elements

The sandy neutrals and earthy tones of the artwork pair beautifully with natural materials like wood, stone, and rattan. Wooden furniture, wicker baskets, or stone accents can complement the colors of Nairn Beach, creating a cohesive look that feels organic and grounded. These elements also add texture, making your decor more visually interesting and inviting.

3. Accent with Sunset Hues

If you want to introduce a touch of warmth and energy, use sunset hues as accents. You can do this through artwork, decorative accessories, or even a statement piece of furniture. For example, a coral-colored vase or a soft yellow armchair can add just the right amount of vibrancy to a room that’s dominated by cooler tones.

4. Play with Neutrals as a Base

Using sandy neutrals as the base of your decor allows you to layer other colors without overwhelming the space. Neutral walls, sofas, or large area rugs provide a calm backdrop that lets the blues and greens shine. You can then build upon this neutral foundation with other elements, creating a layered and dynamic space that feels balanced and harmonious.

Decorating with Large Art from the Nairn Beach Collection

Large art pieces like the Nairn Beach print can serve as a focal point in any room, setting the tone for the entire space. This piece is flexible enough to be placed above a sofa or a bed, used as a dining room or entryway statement piece.   It can also be coordinated with other coastal themes in a gallery wall.   But have you thought about the bathroom?   What a unique piece to display above the tub!

If you’re looking to create a tranquil and inspiring space, the Nairn Beach art piece can provide the perfect backdrop. The serene colors and soothing imagery can help reduce stress and increase focus, making your space more pleasant and productive. Incorporate plants and soft textiles to complement the artwork and enhance the overall atmosphere of calm and creativity.

Color Palette Wrap-Up

The Nairn Beach fine art print offers more than just a beautiful scene—it brings a carefully balanced color palette that can inspire your entire home decor. By understanding the meanings behind the colors and how to complement them with other elements, you can create a space that is not only visually stunning but also calming, inviting, and reflective of the serene beauty of Scotland’s coastline.

Whether you’re decorating a bedroom, living room, or office, incorporating the blues, greens, sandy neutrals, and sunset hues of Nairn Beach will help you craft a space that feels both personalized and harmonious. Let the colors of this fine art piece guide your decor choices, and transform your home into a sanctuary inspired by the natural beauty of Nairn Beach.

More about Lisa Blount Photography

Meet the Artist: Lisa Blount

Where memories, moments, and meaning come together through the art of photography.

Lisa Blount Experience Photographer and Fine Art

Hi, I’m Lisa—photographer, storyteller, wife, mother, experience-chaser, cat-herder and lover of all things nature and travel.
I don’t just take pictures. I create visual experiences that spark connection, bring joy, and turn a house into a home.

For me, art has never just been about capturing something pretty—it’s about capturing something personal. The way the light hits a quiet mountainside, the colors swirling through lichen on a rock, the stillness of a place that made you feel something you can’t quite explain. That’s what draws me in.

Since ART is a true reflection of what the artist sees, feels, and interprets - it is therefore a reflection of ones self .... thru their ART.

A Little Backstory

Born in California, raised in Arkansas, I’ve lived within seven miles of my grandparents’ 1936 homestead since I was ten. As an only child of

an only child, I spent a lot of time creating—scrapbooking, designing, collecting memories, and turning them into keepsakes. That early creative spark still fuels me today.

My love of photography started young (I was the kid with disposable cameras on every trip), but it really took off about 14 years ago before a family vacation to Yellowstone. I bought my first “real” camera for that trip—and that’s when everything changed. I began seeing the world differently—through textures, light, movement, and mood—and I haven’t stopped since.

Why I Create

My art is personal, and always rooted in experience. When my boys were young, I photographed our adventures so they could relive the memories in scrapbooks. As my parents aged—especially my dad, who battled vascular dementia—I began using photography as a way to preserve his memories, too. Watching him reconnect with faces and places through photos reminded me that art is about more than beauty—it’s about meaning, memory, and the moments that matter most.

What Makes My Art Different

Lisa Blount, Photographer, action shot in Yosemite National Park

It’s not just a photo. It’s a feeling.

I call myself an Experience Photographer because my work goes beyond the lens. Each piece is meant to evoke emotion, spark reflection, and create a connection—whether it’s to a place you’ve been, a dream you hold, or a memory you never want to forget.

Scale matters.

Most of my art is created large—like, several-feet-wide large—because seeing it on your wall is a completely different experience than seeing it on a screen. It’s bold. It’s immersive. It’s meant to stop you in your tracks.

Museum-quality materials only.

I print exclusively on premium materials like TruLife Acrylic, ChromaLuxe High Gloss Metal, and Dibond Brushed Metal—each chosen for their ability to bring out color, depth, and detail in a way that feels alive. Everything is custom-crafted and digitally signed for authenticity.

The Personal Side

Family First. Always.

I’ve been married to my husband Jim for over 30 years, and together we’ve raised two incredible sons who (in my completely unbiased opinion) hang the moon. They’ve been a part of this journey every step of the way—as travel companions, equipment carriers, art installers, and my biggest supporters.

They’re also my why. They inspire me to keep creating, keep growing, and keep telling stories through art.

We love to… Travel, Laugh, do Escape Rooms and Call the Hogs!

What do I love to photograph?

Honestly? Whatever catches my eye. I never force a shot—I wait for the moment to unfold. I’m especially drawn to nature, abstract patterns, textures, and color. And lichen—yes, lichen! It’s like nature’s tiny abstract painting, and I’m obsessed.

Art + Design = The Perfect Pairing

Art isn’t just for walls—it’s part of how a space feels. That’s why I’ve created mood boards that pair my artwork with color palettes, furnishings, and interior design styles. They live on my blog and are a great way to imagine how a piece might look in your space.

I also host exclusive Art, Wine & Design events in partnership with local designers. These invite-only evenings are filled with good conversation, beautiful spaces, and of course, lots of art. If you're an interior designer or art lover, let’s connect!

Q&A:

The Art Buying Experience

Everything you need to know before bringing a piece home.

Q: Isn’t it just a photo?
A: It starts as a photograph—but it becomes fine art. Every piece is carefully edited, professionally printed, and crafted with premium materials that bring out color, light, texture, and depth. My art is large, bold, and designed to be a focal point in your space.

Q: What makes your work different from mass-produced prints?
A: Unlike mass-produced art, my pieces are custom-created and printed on museum-quality materials like TruLife Acrylic, ChromaLuxe Metal, and Dibond Brushed Metal. Every piece is digitally signed and made to order—bringing you a truly one-of-a-kind experience.

Q: Do you offer limited editions?
A: Yes! I offer several limited edition pieces that are signed, numbered, and exclusive—making them collectible works of art for your space.

Q: Is your art made in the USA?
A: Absolutely. Every piece is printed and assembled right here in the U.S., supporting multiple small businesses along the way.

Customization & Sizing

Because art should fit your space—and your story.

Q: I don’t see the size I need—can you help?
A: Definitely! Most pieces can be custom-sized to fit your wall perfectly. Just reach out with your dimensions and I’ll be happy to provide a quote.

Q: How do I choose the right size for my space?
A: A good rule of thumb: art should cover about ⅔ to ¾ of your wall space, or 60–75% of the furniture width it hangs above. You can also tape out sizes on your wall—or contact me for help. I even have a blog post all about it!

Q: Do you offer framing?
A: Most of my art is designed to be displayed frameless with a museum-style float mount. But if you’d prefer a frame, I can custom quote one for you!

Caring for Your Art

Beautiful and built to last—with just a little TLC.

Q: How do I clean and care for my art?
A: It depends on the material:
TruLife Acrylic: Use a microfiber cloth and acrylic-safe cleaner (no ammonia).
High Gloss Metal: A damp microfiber cloth or water/alcohol mix works great.
Dibond Brushed Metal: A dry or slightly damp microfiber cloth does the trick.
Canvas: Dust gently; avoid moisture.

Need detailed tips? Visit my Cleaning + Care page.

Q: How is the artwork installed?
A: All of my large artwork comes ready-to-hang with a museum float mount. No frame needed. Just use a sturdy wall cleat system (instructions included). And I’m always happy to help if you have questions!

Shipping, Returns & Gifting

Q: How long does shipping take?
A: Since each piece is custom made just for you, production takes about 14 business days, with shipping around 5–7 days depending on your location. You’ll get tracking info as soon as it ships!

Q: Do you ship internationally?
A: At the moment, I only ship within the U.S., but if you're international, reach out—I’m happy to check options and get you a quote.

Q: What if my art arrives damaged?
A: If your piece is damaged during shipping, please contact me immediately with photos of the box and artwork. I’ll make it right and replace your piece at no cost to you.

Q: Do you offer gift certificates?
A: Yes! Gift certificates are a great way to give the gift of art—especially when you're short on time or want your recipient to choose the piece that speaks to them most.
