2025 Art Trend Predictions: Nature Photography is Trending for Your Home

2025 Art Decorating Trends - Catch the Nature Wave

Anyone else curious what 2025 will bring?   With a new year is new colors, new art trends, new decorating trends and the hope of new and exciting spaces.    2025 will bring nature-focused fine art photography into your decor.   It is set to become a more personalized and impactful experience. As trends evolve, art that bridges the beauty of nature in the world with innovative technology and a deep connection to emotion will become staples in both homes and offices.

Here's some ideas to integrate these upcoming trends into spaces that capture attention and inspire serenity.

1. Immersive Experiences for a Dynamic Space

In 2025, art is expected to break the boundaries of two-dimensional displays. Imagine using large-scale, fine art photography enhanced by augmented reality (AR) or virtual reality (VR) in a living room or office reception area. Through an app or interactive installation, viewers could dive into the scene, feeling the breeze of a photographed seascape or hearing the rustle of trees in a forest.

Color Palette to Watch: Blues and teals reminiscent of water will remain popular, creating a sense of calm and depth in the room. Complement with sandy beiges or subtle greens to anchor the immersive coastal or woodland experience.

How to Decorate: Choose a statement piece, like a large photograph of a serene beach or a lush forest, and install it where guests naturally pause—above a sofa, behind a reception desk, or in an entryway. Use modern, minimalist frames to keep the focus on the art.

2. Sustainability and Eco-Conscious Art for a Green Interior

The conversation around sustainability is becoming more central to design. Nature photography printed on eco-friendly materials such as recycled wood or organic cotton canvases will align with this ethos, making art not only beautiful but also sustainable. Pieces that tell a story of conservation, such as photos of endangered landscapes or wildlife, will resonate deeply with audiences and add a sense of purpose to the space.

Color Palette to Watch: Earthy, organic tones such as deep greens, ochres, and warm browns will continue to be popular. These colors connect seamlessly with the message of sustainability and provide a grounding effect in any room.

How to Decorate: Place these eco-conscious pieces in areas of rest, like a reading nook or meditation corner. Pair them with sustainable furnishings such as bamboo or reclaimed wood furniture to emphasize the eco-friendly theme.

3. Minimalism with a Focus on Details for Subtle Sophistication

Minimalism is evolving from stark, monochrome designs to include natural textures and details. Macro photography, such as a detailed shot of a Pink Caladium Leaf Macro with hot pink and green hues, fits perfectly into this trend. The close-up focus on nature’s fine details pairs beautifully with minimalist and modern interiors by adding interest without clutter.

Color Palette to Watch: Soft whites, muted greens, and blush tones will be in high demand for creating serene, open spaces. The combination of these colors with nature-inspired art adds an organic touch to a clean, minimalistic room.

How to Decorate: Choose one or two macro photography pieces and display them in a space that benefits from quiet detail—such as a bedroom or a hallway. Let the art speak for itself by pairing it with neutral-colored walls and subtle decor.

4. Bold, Cinematic Landscapes for Dramatic Statements

Dramatic, large-scale landscape photography will continue to be a strong trend, infusing homes and offices with a sense of adventure and awe. A piece such as Nairn Beach Abstract Rocks and Sand can make a statement in a room while evoking the calming, timeless feel of the coast. These cinematic views are perfect for spaces that need a strong focal point.

Color Palette to Watch: Rich blues, deep ocean greens, and sunset oranges will dominate, providing a bold backdrop that adds energy to a space. Look for landscapes with contrasting elements to create visual drama.

How to Decorate: Use bold, oversized pieces in high-traffic areas like living rooms or meeting rooms. Hang these artworks above large furniture, such as a sofa or conference table, to emphasize their presence. Complement the colors in the art with accent pieces like throw pillows or vases in matching shades.

5. Personal and Emotional Connection for Warmth and Comfort

As people continue to seek deeper connections with their surroundings, art that tells a story or evokes personal memories will be a priority in 2025. Photographs that depict peaceful churches or historical sites, like Spiritual Warfare, bring an emotional layer to a room. These pieces can ground a space in history or spirituality, adding warmth and a sense of storytelling.

Color Palette to Watch: Grays, whites, and soft taupes will be essential for creating spaces that feel timeless yet intimate. These hues allow more dramatic photography to stand out while maintaining a balanced environment.

How to Decorate: Add personal and emotional pieces to spaces meant for reflection, such as a home office or a quiet corner in the living room. Frame these works in simple, high-quality frames to let the art shine. Complement with textures like linen or wool for a cozy feel.

6. Abstract Nature Photography for Modern Flair

Abstract interpretations of natural elements, like blurred water scenes or stylized rock formations, will gain popularity as people seek unique art that sparks conversation. Pieces like Shell Canyon Lichen, with its pops of orange, gray, and pink, create an abstract effect that adds artistic depth and a pop of color to any room.

Color Palette to Watch: Orange and coral accents paired with neutrals and soft pinks will highlight the contemporary, artistic feel of abstract nature photography.

How to Decorate: Hang abstract nature photography in spaces meant for creativity, like an artist’s studio or a modern living room. Pair the art with sleek, modern furniture and metallic or glass accents to create a clean, sophisticated look.

7. Monochrome and Black-and-White Revivals for Classic Appeal

Black-and-white photography will see a revival in 2025 for its timeless and versatile appeal. High-contrast images of natural landscapes or wildlife can add drama without overpowering a room’s color scheme. Black-and-white pieces are perfect for classic, minimalist spaces looking for a touch of sophistication.

Color Palette to Watch: Pair these monochrome pieces with warm beiges, light grays, or even a bold, dark accent wall to enhance the contrast.

How to Decorate: Use black-and-white nature photography in entryways, offices, or living rooms where you want to create a focal point. Hang them in groups of two or three for an impactful gallery effect, using matching black frames to tie the look together.

8. Earth Tones and Natural Hues for a Calming Space

The trend of using earth tones and natural hues will continue to thrive as people seek peaceful, grounded environments. Photography that highlights earthy colors—such as a macro shot of rocks or an aerial view of a forest—can create a calming atmosphere perfect for relaxation or focus.

Color Palette to Watch: Deep greens, muted browns, and shades of sand will dominate in 2025. These tones are versatile, pairing well with both dark and light furniture.

How to Decorate: Choose large art pieces that incorporate earthy colors for a calming effect in bedrooms or lounges. Complement the art with natural textures like woven rugs, wooden furniture, and cotton or linen fabrics.

9. Large Scale and Statement Pieces for Open Spaces

In 2025, the concept of “go big or go home” applies to fine art photography. Large, statement-making pieces will be a must-have for designers looking to create a visual impact in open spaces like great rooms or lofts. These oversized photographs can feature anything from majestic mountain ranges to detailed botanical shots.

Color Palette to Watch: Pair statement pieces with accent walls painted in soft hues that complement the dominant colors in the art. For example, a photograph with bold blues and greens will pop against a neutral, warm gray wall.

How to Decorate: Hang oversized pieces at eye level, making sure they are proportionate to the furniture beneath them. Use a single statement piece to create a clean, modern look, or add smaller complementary pieces for a layered, gallery effect.

10. Community and Local Focus for a Personal Touch

Supporting local artists and showcasing familiar landscapes will be on the rise as people prioritize local connections and unique decor. Large art photography that features local parks, regional wildlife, or cityscapes can create a personal touch that resonates with homeowners.

Color Palette to Watch: Natural greens, blues, and urban grays will dominate, giving a nod to local environments while providing a versatile palette for any room.

How to Decorate: Use local or community-focused art in common areas like living rooms or hallways to create a conversational focal point. Pair the pieces with personal mementos or local crafts for a cohesive, community-oriented display.

Final Thoughts

Matching large fine art photography with your interior color palette in 2025 will be about balancing bold statement pieces with harmonious colors, textures, and personal connections. Whether you’re working with calming coastal photography or dramatic black-and-white images, understanding the relationship between color, mood, and art will help you create impactful, beautiful spaces. These upcoming trends are an exciting opportunity to refresh home and office interiors with thoughtful, nature-focused art that tells a story and enhances the overall design.

Whichever direction you decide to go on your wall decor - make it uniquely yours and a space that you enjoy coming home to.

Happy Decorating!  ~Lisa

Find out about the ARTIST behind the ART - Lisa Blount

Since ART is a true reflection of what the artist sees, feels, and interprets - it is therefore a reflection of ones self .... thru their ART.

Read more to find out who I am as an artist, why I create, and what makes my work unique. My goal isn’t just to sell art—it’s to create connections through experiences, memories, and storytelling.

Lisa Blount fine art photographerBorn in California and raised in Arkansas, Lisa has lived within seven miles of her grandparents’ 1936 homesteadsince she was ten years old. As an only child of an only child, she spent countless hours fueling her creativity—crafting, designing, and refining ideas.   While Arkansas has changed over the years, Lisa remains drawn to life’s simple yet beautiful moments, finding inspiration in nature, landscapes, and the great outdoors.

Lisa’s passion for travel and photography comes to life in her artwork, where she transforms memories and experiences into fine art for others to enjoy. Whether capturing the serene beauty of a distant landscape or the colors of an unforgettable journey, she seeks to preserve the essence of a moment through her work.

Married to her husband Jim for over 30 years, Lisa is also a proud mom to two incredible boys—who, in her opinion, hang the moon. They play many roles in her artistic journey—sometimes as the subjects, the equipment carriers, the art installers, the travel companions, and always as the inspiration behind her creativity. Above all, they are the reason she continues pushing forward to create, capture, and share beauty with the world.

Q: What is your favorite past-time or hobby?

A: Of course, photography is my passion—but it's more than just taking pictures. I’ve spent years capturing moments, creating digital photo books, scrapbooking, and making collages. I love the creative process behind photography just as much as I love the photos themselves.

Q: How did you first get into photography?

A: I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t taking pictures! As a kid, I always stocked up on film or disposable cameras before school trips and vacations. About 14 years ago, before a family trip to Yellowstone, I invested in my first “real” camera because I wanted to capture the wildlife. That trip sparked my journey into fine art photography, and I haven’t stopped capturing experiences since.

Q: What type of photographer are you?

A: I consider myself an Experience Photographer—a term I explain in detail in my blog! My art isn’t just about taking pictures; it’s about capturing moments, emotions, and memories that connect with people on a deeper level.

Q: What is your favorite thing to photograph?

A: Whatever catches my eye at the moment! I don’t force a shot—I wait for the right moment to unfold naturally. I’m drawn to nature, abstract textures, and landscapes, but one of my favorite subjects is lichen. The intricate details, colors, and patterns in lichen are like miniature abstract paintings in nature!

Q: How does your art relate to your life story?

A: My art has always been about capturing experiences. When my kids were little, I took photos to document our travels so they could relive the memories through scrapbooks. Over time, I realized those captured moments weren’t just for them—they were for me, too.

Even my home wall tells of my experiences - Wall gallery using large pieces of acrylic art -Lisa Blount photography

Later, as my parents aged, I saw firsthand how photography could be a powerful tool for memory. My father had vascular dementia, and I used my photos to help him recall faces, places, and his life story. Watching him flip through those pictures, trying to piece together memories, was when I truly realized the impact of art—it’s not just about aesthetics; it’s about pausing, reflecting, and remembering.  Life is short - enjoy the moment and remember the happiness.  That’s when Lisa Blount Photography took on a deeper purpose.

Q: What makes your art different?

A: Two things: experience and scale.

  1. My art isn’t just a picture—it’s an experience. Each piece is meant to evoke a memory, spark a feeling, or remind you of a journey, a place, or a time in your life.
  2. I offer extra-large, statement-sized art. Seeing a photograph in a tiny viewfinder is one thing, but seeing it printed several feet wide on a wall is an entirely different experience!

Q: Isn’t it just a photo?

A: Yes… and no! It starts as a photograph, but the process I use turns it into fine art. I print only on premium materials like TruLife Acrylic, Chromaluxe High Gloss Metal, and Dibond Brushed Metal—each chosen for its ability to bring out depth, color, and detail. My pieces are large, bold, and conversation starters—so much more than just a simple photo.

Q: Why do you select those specific print mediums?

A: I want my art to be the highest quality possible, and these mediums allow the colors to pop, the details to shine, and the image to feel immersive. Plus, they are ready-to-hang with no need for framing. If you’re going to invest in fine art, it should be something you’re proud to display for years to come.

I spent several years researching, testing, and refining print mediums, products, and vendors to ensure I offer only the best. As technology evolves, I continually evaluate new materials, ensuring they meet or exceed my high standards, so you always receive the finest quality available.

Q: Is your art signed?

A: Yes! All of my art is digitally signed before printing, ensuring authenticity and a personal touch.

Q: Do you offer limited edition pieces?

A: Absolutely! I have several limited edition pieces that are digitally signed and numbered, making them exclusive collector’s items.

Q: I can't envision art in a room—do you have any suggestions?

A: Absolutely! As an artist, I believe art should be the focal point of a space, drawing the eye and setting the tone for the entire room. To help with that, I’ve created mood boards that pair my artwork with furniture, color palettes, and design styles. These can be found in my blog: ART with Mood Boards.

Many people have told me they love seeing how art can transform a space, and they look forward to each new mood board I create. It’s a great way to visualize how a piece will look in your home or office before making a decision!

But I get it—sometimes you want to see the art in person before making a decision. That’s why I have a gallery at a local business in Springdale, Arkansas, where several select pieces are on display. Some are available for sale on-site, while others can be ordered and shipped directly to your home or office. If you'd like to visit, just contact me for an appointment, and I’ll be happy to walk you through the collection.

Also,  I partner with a Interior Design Firms to host "Art, Wine & Design"—a special evening where you can meet both designers and the artist (me!). It’s an exciting event with a great atmosphere, and I always bring a selection of new art pieces, as well as smaller take-home items like acrylic blocks, greeting cards, coasters, and magnets.

Q: Where in the U.S. do you have art?

A: My art has found homes across the United States, with customers from coast to coast purchasing pieces for their homes and offices.

I’m also deeply honored to have two of my pieces displayed in the budget room of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. This was a completely unexpected request, and I’m incredibly grateful that my work represents Northwest Arkansas in such a historic space.  The art now hangs in the Congressman's office.  university arkansas old main tower art by Lisa Blount

All purchases, however, are made exclusively through my website at www.lisablountphotography.com or by contacting me directly.

Q: Is your art made in the USA?

A: Yes! I’m proud to say that all of my art is printed and assembled in the USA. When you purchase from me, you’re supporting at least two small businesses right here in the U.S.

Q: I need a specific size, but I don’t see it listed.

A: Great question! Most of my prints can be custom-sized to fit your specific space. Just reach out, and I’ll be happy to provide a custom quote.

One of the things I love most about my work is the ability to offer flexibility in sizing. Unlike mass-produced retail prints, I consider myself a boutique artist, focusing on personalized selections for my customers. I understand that not all art fits in every space—and it shouldn’t. Your art should be as unique as you and your home.

Let me know what you need, and I’ll do my best to make it work! You can contact me directly through my website or you can  Email me.

Q: How do I know which size art is right for my space?

A: Choosing the right size for your art is important! A general rule is that artwork should fill two-thirds to three-quarters of your wall space or be about 60-75% of the width of your furniture (like a couch or bed). If you’re unsure, I recommend using painter’s tape to map out different sizes on your wall or reaching out—I’m happy to provide guidance!   .... I have a BLOG on that!

Q: What makes your art different from mass-produced prints?

A: Great question!!  Unlike mass-produced prints, my work is artist-selected, professionally printed, and available in custom sizes. Each piece is crafted using premium, archive-rated, museum-quality materials like TruLife Acrylic, Chromaluxe High Gloss Metal, and Dibond Brushed Metal, offering superior durability, clarity, and depth. Plus, every piece is digitally signed, ensuring authenticity.

Q: Do you offer framing options?

A: Most of my pieces are designed to be frameless, with museum-mounted floating backs that allow them to stand out without needing a traditional frame. However, if you prefer a framed look, let me know—I can custom quote frames for your selected art piece!

Q: How is the artwork installed?

A: My TruLife Acrylic, Metal, and Dibond prints come with a museum float mount, which means they hang effortlessly on your wall without additional framing. Each piece comes ready to install—simply use a sturdy cleat system depending on the weight of the piece. Instructions are included, but if you have any questions, I’m happy to help!

Q: How do I clean and care for my art?

A: Here's the short story...  Different materials require different care:
TruLife Acrylic: Use a microfiber cloth and acrylic-safe cleaner (avoid ammonia-based products).
High Gloss Metal: Wipe with a damp microfiber cloth or a mix of water and isopropyl alcohol.
Dibond Brushed Metal: Use a dry microfiber cloth or slightly damp cloth for fingerprints.
Canvas Prints: Dust gently with a soft cloth or brush; avoid excessive moisture.

The longer story can be found on my cleaning tips page!

Q: How long does shipping take?

A: Since each piece is custom made just for you, standard production time is approximately 14 business days. Shipping times vary based on your location and I usually estimately 7 business days, but you’ll receive tracking information once your order has shipped. If you need a rush order, let me know—I’ll see what’s possible!

Q: Do you ship internationally?

A: At this time, I primarily ship within the United States, but if you’re interested in international shipping, please contact me, and I’ll see what options are available and can get you a quote.

Q: What is your return or exchange policy?

A: Because each piece is custom made just for you, all sales are final. However, if your art arrives damaged, please contact me immediately with photos, and I’ll work quickly to resolve the issue.   Damaged art will be replaced at no cost to you - as long as pictures of the damaged box and art are provided.

Q: Do you offer gift certificates?

A: Yes! If you’re looking for the perfect gift but aren’t sure which piece to choose, I offer gift certificates so your recipient can pick the art that speaks to them.   PLUS - it's a great last minute idea when your gift giving time is shorter than shipping.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about Lisa Blount Photography! My art is an extension of my experiences, travels, and creative vision. Through my work, I hope to bring color, emotion, and storytelling into your space—opening a window into my world, my eye, and my journey.
